Auggie Dog! What can we say about our dear sweet Auggie? Auggie
is a Dogue de Bordeaux mix who is a young guy, probably around 18
months old, who is nothing but kisses and wiggles. If you don't
like kisses, then Auggie is definitely not the dog for you! As we
say around our house, "Auggie can't hold his licker!" He started
out nameless and scared in a local animal shelter, curled up and
shaking in the corner of his cage, jumping and trembling even more
every time the intercom went off in the shelter. While we were
there to evaluate someone else, Auggie Dog caught our eye and we
couldn't leave him behind. He is now safe and sound in his foster
home, gaining weight, neutered and healthy. He is all puppy still
and will chew, so he needs to be in a crate if not supervised.
Auggie is a wiggling, high-energy ball of fur, who gets along with
most other dogs, although he can sometimes be picky about his
friends. He sometimes barks when left
alone, so for that reason he cannot live in an apartment,
townhouse or condominium. If you love kisses, wiggles, and droopy
jowls, consider adding Auggie to your life.
"A harbor, even if it is a little harbor, is a good thing, since
adventures come into it as well as go out, and the life in it grows
strong, because it takes something from the world and has something
to give in return." -Sarah Orne Jewett, from "River Driftwood"
