Hi everyone, my name is Bruce. I am a six month old pit bull mix and I really, really need your help.

My life has been pretty traumatic so far; I was hit by a truck's front tires, then again by the back tires. It really hurt and was really scary. When my owners found out that my back legs were shattered and I needed lots of care, they abandoned me at the vet's office. I was in Prince George's County and pit bulls are banned, even if they are as sweet as I am. My future looked very grim.

I am a bit of a charmer and have quickly won the hearts of many humans who learned about me through emails, Facebook and word-of-mouth. My brown eyes are always smiling, and I know how to give hugs by putting my head right on your shoulder. Even though it hurts, I am constantly wagging my tail, and I love to cuddle with my stuffed elephant. I anxiously watch my friends romp and play around the neighborhood, and hope there will be a day that I can join them! Since I am such a young pup, my ability to rebound from the accident and surgery is very high. My walking may never be 100% perfect, but I try really hard.

These great people are now trying to raise funds to pay for my care, which is over $5,000 already! I thank you with a thousand licks for any help you can give me!
